Americans for Informed Democracy



Americans for Informed Democracy’s Hope Not Hate initiative works to ensure that young Muslims and non-Muslims see a more effective and harmonious vision for the future of U.S.-Islamic relations. AID coordinates town halls and videoconferences to raise awareness about how the U.S. and the Muslim world can work together to deter a growing division. The series has engaged more than 20,000 students and citizens in two hundred communities from Macon, Georgia and Vermillion, South Dakota to Amman, Jordan, and Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Islamic Society of North America has served the Muslims of this continent for well over forty years. During this period ISNA has provided many invaluable services to the Muslim community of North America. Most manifest of course, is the ISNA Annual Convention, which, since its very inception has been a meeting place of people and ideas. The Public Conversations Project is a Boston-based nonprofit that uses dialogue to improve relationships and understanding among groups and individuals on opposing sides of divisive public issues. These conversations usually result in diminished polarization and hostility, increased trust and respect, and can lead to collaborative action. The Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding was founded in 1993 by an agreement between the Fondation pour L'Entente entre Chretiens et Musulmans, Geneva and Georgetown University to build stronger bridge of understanding between the Muslim world and the West as well as between Islam and Christianity. The Center's mission is to improve relations between the Muslim world and the West and enhance understanding of Muslims in the West.

Common Tables is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization with a global vision of peaceful coexistence. The goal of Common Tables is to bring together people of all faiths and cultures through a worldwide framework of 3 million people by the end of 2008.
